Happy Hump Day!

After another "research session" (a.k.a. procrastinating on Pinterest!), I came across this.

I'm now wondering if Couva should change our slogan... What do you think of this?!

Coffee...better enjoyed with friends!

It's the little things in life that make life sweeter...
like lingering over a great brew with a close friend.

Coffee Ice Lollies - The Perfect Summertime Treat

While hanging out on Pinterest this morning (have you seen our boards?), I came across this lovely simple recipe for ice lollies made out of coffee and cream - they look deelish!
We've been so blessed with a gorgeous summer here in the UK, and I can't think of a nicer treat for a hot summer afternoon! (Full credit goes to Love and Cupcakes Blog for the recipe and pics!)

Coffee & Cream Ice Lollies
Makes approx. 10 ( depending on the size of your lolly molds!)
Ingredients
  • 2 cups extra-strong coffee
  • 2/3 cup single or whipping cream
  • 2/3 cup double cream
  • 1/4 cup icing sugar
Directions
1. Mix the coffee with single or whipping cream. Add a bit more cream or coffee, to get the coffee-cream balance to your taste .
2. Pour into ice lolly molds about 3/4th’s full and freeze for 1-2 hours.
3. Meanwhile, mix the double cream and icing sugar.
4. Top the semi-frozen coffee lolly molds with the sweetened double cream mixture. Insert lolly sticks and freeze until solid.
Enjoy!

Life is like a cup of coffee...

It's a rather grey and rainy day here in Oxford... but that's ok!

Source: Pinterest

The more I think about it, the more life IS like a cup of coffee... It can be sweet, strong, bitter. It can get cold or be piping hot (*wink wink*!).
It can be a cup of weak, uninspiring instant, or bold, rich and flavoursome.
Does yours have frothy milk on top, a bit of whipped cream?

How do you make your coffee?!

Have a great week...

Wonderful Weekend

It's nearly the weekend - yahoo!

The sunshine and warmth continues here in Oxford, and I'm hoping to soak up as much of it as possible over the next few days (because you never know when 'summer' will come to an end!).

May your weekend be filled with warm moments and beautiful memories!
